You may ask “why the name L33t FOO?”. Well, we knew we were going to talk about anything and everything about GNU/Linux and other F/OSS related topics. It seemed natural that we should have foo in the name somewhere (foo is commonly used by software developers to signify a variable). L33T is compuslang for “elite”. So, put together it [loosely] means “the best of anything”.
As soon as we started to kick around that name Mike said it sounded like a form of Kung-Fu. We couldn’t stop laughing as things like “My Linux style L33t-Foo will defeat your Windows style!” At that point I modified the Crystal Tux to be a Kung-Fu Tux and I recorded our theme song with the Asian opening.
It may be a “you had to be there” kind of thing, but we think its halarious.
